The Brief

Customer Sense’s Lynda Willis was asked to deliver two WorldHost Programmes (Principles of Customer Service and Ambassador Workshop) as part of the Lemis+ Hospitality Academy which is a partnership with Ashton Community Trust and Belfast City Council.   The aim of the two week programme is to prepare unemployed people for careers in the hospitality sector in Belfast providing them with specialist skills in customer service, tourism, first aid, food hygiene and much more.

The Methodology

The standard WorldHost Programmes (Principles of Customer Service and Ambassador Workshop) were tailored to meet the specific needs of the delegates who were applying for positions with the newly opened Titanic Hotel in Belfast.  As well as focusing on the top visitor attractions in Belfast and the rest of Northern Ireland, emphasis was placed on the hotel’s facilities and Titanic history.

To assist with preparation of course materials, Lynda Willis visited the Titanic Hotel to get firsthand customer experience of the venue and she was able to share her insights with the course delegates.

Success Story

Interaction was excellent in each training session and subsequent feedback was very positive.  Delegates felt that their confidence had increased as well as increasing their knowledge about best practice in customer service and tourism.

All nine delegates successfully passed the tests.
