Customer Service Specialist

Jean Haworth worked for a large public sector organisation for over 30 years. During that time she headed up a number of departments including Operations, Customer Service and Training and Development. Having a passion to see people develop professionally she took the opportunity to start up her own business, Jean Haworth Consulting, in 2001.

Customer Service Trainer

Jean is highly experienced in the field of Customer Service both as a practitioner and trainer. Her department, with responsibility for Royal Mail’s business and social client base in N Ireland, won the U.K. national award for quality and performance.  She has a proven track record of working with companies designing and delivering bespoke customer Service training solutions. Jean also delivered the NI Tourist Board’s Welcome to Excellence suite of programmes to over 1,000 staff across N Ireland.

As one of the first trainers to be licensed to deliver the internationally recognised World Host Customer Service training programme in N Ireland Jean has been key to the success of the programme not only in the Antrim coast area but also across N Ireland.  In partnership with Ballymoney Borough Council Jean delivered the programme to over 40 businesses in the council area.  Clients from across N Ireland have been from a range of sectors including retail, hospitality, entertainment, sport, leisure, tourist attractions, tour guiding and heritage and culture.

Management Consultancy

Jean delivers a portfolio of training and development solutions, accredited and non- accredited, including Train the Trainer, Leadership, Team Building, Interview Techniques, Managing Stress and Conflict, Project Management and Resolving Conflict in the Workplace. Clients have included BDO Stoy Hayward, Learning Skills Development Agency, NI Water, South Eastern Regional College, Southern Regional College, Ulster Wildlife and Community Focus Learning.

Competency Based Interviews

Jean is a highly experienced interviewer, particularly in the area of competency based assessing.  She has completed 10 years as an Independent Assessor for the Commissioner for Public Appointments, N Ireland participating in a number of high profile public appointments in N Ireland and the Cabinet Office London.  Jean now very successfully coaches clients, applying for public appointments, in the art of completing a competency based application form and preparing for interview.

How to write a CV and completing a job application form

Jean has developed excellent expertise around CV writing. One of her most recent projects “Job search skills” involved working with a group of unemployed and disadvantaged, delivering personal development plans to improve employability prospects. A highlight of the programme was assisting clients to produce CVs which were marketing tools with impact, and resulted in some of them being called for interview.
