123 Reg Staff attend Customer Sense’s Exhibition Stand Skills Webinars
When a company has staff at two locations, sometimes the most cost-effective and practical way to deliver training to all staff is by webinar. Earlier this month, we were approached by Camille Simpson , the Sales Manager of website hosting company 123 Reg to deliver Exhibition Stand Skills Training to two groups of sales staff, one in Nottingham and the other in London. This was part of their preparation for the Business Show, the largest business and networking event in Europe, which is held in the ExCel Convention Centre in London each November.
“After an initial conversation with Camille, it was agreed to conduct two hour training session by webinar. I had attended lengthy three hour webinars in the past and to be honest, it’s hard to keep your concentration levels up after staring at a screen after an hour,” explained trainer Lynda Willis from Customer Sense Training and Consultancy. “To avoid the screen fatigue, it was decided to hold two webinars, each lasting one hour.”
Using Zoom webinar software, the one hour webinars took place on Monday 25 November and Tuesday 26 November 2019. A detailed workbook was prepared in advance which was emailed to all attendees so that they could write notes during the webinars.
Exhibition Stands – examining the Good, Bad and Ugly
The first webinar focused on “what to say” while on the exhibition stand eg greetings, building rapport, the pitch, questioning skills and handling objections. The second webinar looked at “what to do” on the exhibition stand ie creating a positive first impression for the member of staff and then looking at the “good, bad and ugly” of a range of exhibition stand displays.
“Even though we were in three different locations, it was still possible to convey the key points concerning successfully manning an exhibition stand,” commented Lynda. “One of the delegates even practiced his elevator pitch with me taking on the role of a small artisan food producer who had approached the stand and was interested in revamping her website.”
The two day Business Show at London’s Excel Convention Centre was a great success for the 123 Reg team. Camille was very appreciative of the webinar training and she was delighted to report that the team were very engaged and professional throughout the show as well as hitting their targets for leads.
